Lake Naivasha

Sorry for the long absence. It's been crazy days at work, belive me. And I spent last week in Somalia where I was managing a mission for two consultants from Kenya to Galkayo (on the border between Puntland and South-Central Somalia). It went well under the circumstances - we could not access all areas we had plan to visit because of "unrest" (security issues), but I would say we achieved 60% of what was planned, not to bad. Came back three days earlier than expected, and after that I fell ill and I'm still recovering from that. Anyway, here are some photos from our trip to Lake Naivasha during Easter.

Don't trust this hippo. In the evenings they get out of the water to eat grass (they don't like sun light) and then you better be careful...a friend of ours recently confronted a hippo when he was walking on a litte patch back to his hotel room one night at lake Naivasha, after a couple of beers. He heard this sound from the bushes and out came the hippo and started chasing him. My friend tripped and fell to the ground (and scratched off his nipple - aouch!), he was very lucky - the hippo ran into a lantern on the ground and fell over as well - giving this guy a couple of seconds to get up and away! Mean bastards those hippos I tell ya!

Look at the good Swede - life vest of course!

Next morning we had breakfast on a little hill overlooking the lake.

Say hi to Mr Kongoni. This Kongoni was weird. More or less tame growing up with humans that owned the house we stayed at.

He ran around our breakfast table, doing laps. Lap after lap after lap. Round and around and around us. Totally disturbed.
