Haven't done anything work wise really since November last year when I left Kenya. Ok, I've done a far amount of "networking" here so I guess that should count. I am doing a consultancy for UNDP for 15 days in the area of gender analysis/mainstreaming, and it is very interesting. Hopefully it can lead to more work in the same area. But I am not used to work from home and to have such a definite dead line. But I guess that is healthy. Discipline! Reminds me a bit of University years when I had home assignments.. But this is much more fun - and I get paid in the end :))
I found some more "old" photos from beginning of November last year when mum visited. It was actually the first time I travelled to Bratislava as well. Took the photos with her camera. Mum and dad are coming here in April - can't wait!
Never change an old nice tradition: beer at Kastrup before flying out - Julöl!

View over the Old Town which is a pedestrian zone where it's really nice to walk around. Basically the area where the tourists go for a day (before they go back to Vienna?).

View over the Novy Most area - the New Bridge. The building in the middle of the bridge, the tower, has a bar called UFO which is neat. Apparently they have a good restaurant but I've only been there for a drink with Samuel and Ella.

Christmas market. Lots of sausages and hot wine. In the evenings the area is crowded with people. Cosy.

ETHNO SUMBA!!

Mum was kind to help unpacking all the boxes from Kenya which we managed to get shipped out from the harbor in Mombasa before the post-election violence started.

And that same night I got the best Christmas gift ever from Joe - trip to Paris AND Bruce Springsteen concert AND visit to Strasbourg!!! (He did not yet know that I was going to give him a ticket to the Bruce concert in Gothenburg as well...)
Judging from the French stalker's video below, apparently Bruce also managed to squeeze is some sight seeing in Paris. If I had known I would have been hanging out at Notre Dame all day long, hehe
